Please note that even if the country of which you are a national is listed among those that do require a visa, you will not be required to present it if you have any of the following documents:
- Document proving permanent residence in Canada, the United States of America, Japan, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, or any of the countries that make up the Schengen Area.
Italian documents in question:
- Valid and valid visa from the United States of America.
- APEC Business Traveler Card (ABTC) approved by Mexico.
- Certificate that accredits you as a member of the crew of the aircraft in which you are arriving.
- Seaman's book, if he/she is a member of the crew of the vessel arriving to a Mexican port on an international voyage. If the crew member arrives by air to enlist in a vessel operating in a national port, he/she must present, in addition to the sea book, a document that accredits his/her enrollment, the vessel's data and the Mexican port where it is located.
In these cases, they do not require a visa to travel to Mexico as tourists if their stay will not exceed 180 days and if they will not receive any remuneration during their stay. However, in the immigration review filter you must present:
- Valid and valid passport
- FMM duly filled out (provided by the airline during the flight).
- The immigration authority may ask the foreigner to prove the reason for his/her trip, by means of any of the following documents:
- Details of their trip such as airline tickets, hotel reservations and travel itineraries (such as tour tickets or visits to archaeological sites). The air ticket must have a fixed date of arrival and departure. Only if you have a visa as a temporary or permanent resident, you may enter Mexico with an entry-only ticket. You must also present a reservation of the hotel where you will be staying or a letter of invitation from your host. The letter must contain: -the signature of the person who invites you, -the data of said person (name, birth, address where you reside and where you will be staying) -the relationship between you and said person, -your data (name, nationality, date of birth), -dates and purpose of the trip. You must also attach a valid Mexican ID with photograph and signature of the person issuing the letter. This letter can be sent to your email address, by fax, or by mail. You must also demonstrate economic solvency to cover the expenses of your stay in Mexico, which can be done by presenting cash at the rate of 50 euros per day, or traveler's checks or credit cards.
- Mandatory letter in Spanish language from the parent company, affiliate or foreign subsidiary indicating that the foreign person is an employee of the company and that the payment of the services to be rendered in the national territory will be paid for by the same.
- Copy of the contract for the transfer of technology, patents and trademarks, purchase and sale of machinery and equipment, technical training of personnel, or any other contract related to the production process of a company established in Mexico or that links the foreign party with the Mexican party, or proof of appointment by the shareholders' meeting of companies legally established in Mexico.
- Letter from a public or private organization or institution inviting the foreign person to participate in an unpaid activity in Mexican territory, stating the purpose of the visit and theestimated length of stay. In the event that the organization or institution pays for the travel expenses and the stay of the foreigner in the national territory, a letter of responsibility must be attached.
- Letter of invitation or acceptance from an institution belonging to the National Education System to carry out courses, studies or research or training projects for a maximum period of 180 days.
It is reiterated that once you are in Mexican territory you may NOT change your migratory category or extend the maximum term of 180 days.
In the case of Mexico, a minimum validity of the passport is not required for entry into Mexico, but it must be valid during your stay and until the day you plan to leave the country.
No. Italian nationals may travel on business trips to Mexico without a visa for a period of less than 180 days.
In these cases, the traveler must be accompanied by a letter from the company or companies established in Mexico with which he/she will have a relationship, as well as from the company established in Italy that is sending him/her.

In these cases, the traveler must be accompanied by a letter from the company or companies established in Mexico with which he/she will have a relationship, as well as from the company established in Italy that is sending him/her.
This visa allows you to visit Mexico for activities that do not involve receiving remuneration such as:
- Tourist activities*.
- Transit through Mexico
- Business (such as attending meetings, supervisory visits, training or consultancies in Mexico)

- Technical work in companies (without receiving payment in Mexico)
- Attending trade shows and/or conferences
- Philanthropic activities
- Transportation of goods
- Cooperation Programs or Agreements, Humanitarian Cause
- Activities related to the exercise of ministers of worship
- Receive medical treatments, sports activities, as well as studies that do not imply a temporary stay of more than 180 days
- The tourist activity allows foreigners to carry out recreational or health activities; artistic, cultural or sports activities, not remunerated or lucrative; attend congresses, conventions, fairs or expositions when their participation is of a cultural, educational, informative, sports or artistic nature and does not include the promotion of goods or services; or participate in summer courses, congresses, symposiums or short term courses.
No. The maximum period of stay is 180 days, non-extendable.
No.The immigration law does not allow a change of immigration status or to extend the 180 day period as a visitor with or without permission to perform remunerated activities once in Mexico. The only case in which the law does allow a change of immigration status is in the case of family unity. In case of being a family member of a Mexican person or of a foreigner residing in Mexico, it can be regularized before the National Institute of Migration, complying with the requirements established by such institution.
Permanent Residency visas may only be applied for in the case of having a Mexican child or sibling, and in the latter case, only if the applicant is a minor.

ny person wishing to work in Mexico must have an offer of employment in Mexico. Mexican law does not contemplate the change of immigration status in Mexican national territory.
The hiring company will apply to the National Immigration Institute (INM) for visa authorization; such employer will register its application with the INM and will receive a Unique Processing Number (NUT).
Once the NUT has been authorized, the employer must inform the interested party, who must read the visa requirements and request the corresponding appointment.

The date established in the NUT is extended until further notice due to the coronavirus contingency. In other words, the NUT does not expire.
Please also note that if you have a NUT, you can document it at any Mexican consulate or embassy abroade.
Appointments must be made on an individual basis. Families or groups will not be admitted with only one scheduled appointment.
There is no requirement to present a flight itinerary to obtain a visa. In fact, we advise against purchasing flights before obtaining the required visa. That said, the Embassy is not responsible for any penalties incurred by changes in airline reservations, nor will it compensate for flights that cannot be boarded due to the lack of a visa. In the case of work visas, you are encouraged to plan your travel in advance and ensure that you have a visa prior to your scheduled start date. Please note that the deliberative process for granting or denying a visa may take up to ten working days after the interview is conducted.

No. It is preferable that you apply for your visa once you are sure you have all the requirements otherwise you will be charged a visa application fee and your visa will be denied. Please do not send documentation for review prior to your visa appointment.
