TEMPORARY RESIDENT VISA BY INVITATION OF EMPLOYMENT

Foreigners who wish to travel to Mexico with the purpose to conduct remunerated activities for more than 180 days must have an offer of employment. The Mexican institution, company or person who intends to hire the foreigner must submit the visa application directly to the National Migration Institute (Instituto Nacional de Migración, INM) in Mexico. The Embassy or Consulate may only issue a visa if it has been authorized by the INM.


Once the foreigner has the corresponding authorization, (s)he must apply personally at any Mexican Consulate with the following documents:

  1. Application form, duly filled with a handwritten signature (https://embamex.sre.gob.mx/indonesia/images/solicitudes/Visa_Application_Form_2024.pdf).

  2. Passport with a validity of more than 6 months, original and copy.
  3. Proof of legal stay in Indonesia:
    For Indonesian: Kartu Tanda Penduduk (KTP), original and copy.
    For foreigners: Temporary Resident Card (KITAS), original and copy; or Permanent Resident Card (ITAP), original and copy.
  4. One recent color picture (3cm ×4cm, full white background (light blue or gray are not acceptable), without glasses nor contact lenses, front view. Please make sure that any hair is not covering your forehead nor ears.
  5. Pay the fee of 53 USD (which will be paid on the day informed by the consular officer). Further information will be provided after complying with the requirements.
  6.  Copy of authorization letter from the National Migration Institute (Instituto Nacional de Migración, INM) which contains NUT.

If there is no missing document, then we will proceed with arranging your interview appointment. This consular service is personal and cannot be represented by someone else because there will be an interview with the Consul.
2. The Consul may ask you for further supporting documents if needed.
3. We would suggest you to start sending your documents at least 2 weeks before your trip in order to avoid any inconveniences. We also do not recommend you to purchase the flight tickets yet until you finish with the visa application process.
