::HOLDERS OF U.S.A. CANADA, U.K. AND SCHENGEN VISAS ::

Holders of any valid U.S.A., Canada, Japan, United Kingdom, Schengen visas (any nationality) or permanent residence of U.S.A., Canada, Japan, United Kingdom, Schengen, Pacific Alliance (Colombia, Peru, Chile) DO NOT require a Mexican visa to travel on business, tourism, or transit purpose for or less than 180 days as long as they present any of the mentioned documents at the point of entry. 

 

::PROCEDURE TO APPLY FOR A MEXICAN VISA::

 

Step 1: Prepare your documents according to the visa type that you will apply for (See below requirements for each type of visa).

 

Visitor visa without permission to do remunerative activities

All required documents must reflect complete name as shown in passport.

  1. Original passport valid for at least six months and photocopy of the first and last page.
  2. Application form duly filled (printed in one page, double sided). (Download here).
  3. One recent passport-sized photograph (4.5 CM X 3.5 CM), white background, without glasses. Face should cover 80% of the photo.
  4. Original cover letter given by your employer indicating the purpose and length of the trip.
  5. Appointment letter. All employees must have been working at least 1 year in the same company.
  6. Letter of invitation from the Mexican company indicating the purpose and length of the trip.
  7. Original pay slips (last 3 months).
  8. Original personal bank statement or pass book  (last 3 months) certified by the bank.
  9. Personal Income Tax Return (ITR) or Form 16 (1 year).
  10. Visa fee ($36 US Dollars payable in INR at the current exchange rate).

If the applicant is a business owner, they must also include the following documents:   

  • Partnership deed which should include the name of the applicant or Company Registration before the State Government, duly apostilled.
  • Income Tax Return of the Company for the last two years.
  • Company Bank Statement  for the last three months.

NOTE:

  • Personal presence of the applicant is mandatory for biometric process and interview.

  11. For parents dependant on the main applicant, include birth certificate of the main applicant dully apostilled by the Ministry of External Affairs.

NOTE:

  • Names on all the documents should be exctly as on the passport(s).

  • Passport should be valid for at least 6 months from the date of travel.

    • Number of the official registry, if it corresponds to the organization.
    • Mission/objective of the organization or institution (private or public).
    • Complete address and contact information of the organization or institution.
    • Information of the activity or project that the guest is doing in the organization.
    • Estimated duration of the activity that the guest will undertake.
    • The letter will have to explicitly mention the commitment of the organization or institution to cover all expenses of the person invited during his/her stay in Mexico and the commitment of his return to his/her country of residence.
    • Copy of an official identification with signature and photography of the person that will sign this letter. 
  9. Original and photocopy of bank statements or investment proofs of the Mexican organization or institution (last 12 months).
  10. A document attesting that the applicant has the experience to carry out the activity for which he is invited (example: original degree or educational certificate).
  11. Visa fee ($36 US Dollars payable in INR at the current exchange rate).

  5. Proof of economic solvency to cover the studies.
    • People who are receiving an scholarship: The letter must mention the amount of the scholarship that the student will receive.

Applies when the Government of Mexico is hosting and international event.

All required documents must reflect complete name as shown in passport.

Temporary Resident Visa (Work)

The employer must submit the application before the local office of the National Immigration Institute (INAMI) in Mexico, www.inm.gob.mx.

 

INAMI will issue an authorization for an interview at the closest Consulate or Consular Section. Once the applicant has this authorization, he/she needs to submit the following documents, in person, at the nearest Consulate:

  1. Original passport valid for at least six months and photocopy of the first and last page.
  2. Application form duly filled (printed in one page, double sided). (Download here).
  3. Copy of the authorization from the National Immigration Institute (INAMI).
  4. Original cover letter given by your employer indicating the purpose and the length of the trip.
  5. One recent passport-sized photograph (4.5 CM X 3.5 CM), white background, without glasses. Face should cover 80% of the photo.
  6. Visa fee ($36 US Dollars payable in INR at the current exchange rate).

Visitor visa with permission to do remunerative activities (Work for less than 180 days).

The employer must submit the application before the local office of the National Immigration Institute (INAMI) in Mexico, www.inm.gob.mx. This type of visa applies when the foreigner will be in Mexico less than 180 days.

Temporary Resident Visa

The main applicant is the person who already holds a Temporary/Permanent Resident Card. The main applicant must accompany the dependants during the visa application procedure.

  8. Spouse’s Income Tax Return (ITR) or Form 16 (1 year).
  9. Visa fee ($36 US Dollars payable in INR at the current exchange rate).

Requirements for children:

  1. Original passport valid for at least six months and photocopy of the first and last page.

Citizens of India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka or the Maldives who wish to enrol for more than six months in a Mexican School, College or University, either public or private, must obtain a Temporary Resident Visa for Students.

Step 3: Pay visa application fee

Starting January 1st, 2017, all visa applications submitted to the Embassy of Mexico will cost $36.00 USD payable in INR at the current exchange rate. Payment is non-refundable and also does not guarantee that the visa application will be approved. Payment of the visa fee can be done prior to the submission of the documents in case of electronic transfers with the passport no. as the reference, cash transactions must be done on the day of the appointment.

 

Application fee for December 2018: INR 2,552 only.

Step 4: Attend your appointment. Bring your complete documents and payment receipt.

When you book your appointment through MEXITEL you will receive a confirmation letter in your email which you must carry with you the day of your appointment. On that date, we will take a photograph and fingerprints. Also, we will conduct and interview to confirm the purpose of the trip.

 

Remember that payment is nonrefundable and needs to be done prior to the submission of documents. To avoid inconveniences, please make sure that you bring your complete documents.

 

Step 5: Collect your passport

If your application is approved, visa processing time takes 24-48 hours. You have to collect your passport in person. Please plan accordingly. Passport can be collected by the applicant or by another individual with a letter of authorization. Collection timings are from 15:30 to 16:00

If you are granted a Mexican visa you will be able to travel to Mexico. Immigration authorities keep the right to grant or deny entry to the country. Officials can request information regarding the purpose and length of your trip, as well as the means to cover your expenses while you stay in the country.

Mexican immigration authorities will verify the authenticity of all documents you present and the truthfulness of the information you provide. They will also confirm that no outright restriction exists to enter the country.
