::HOLDERS OF U.S.A. CANADA, U.K. AND SCHENGEN VISAS ::

Holders of any valid U.S.A., Canada, Japan, United Kingdom, Schengen visas (any nationality) or permanent residence of U.S.A., Canada, Japan, United Kingdom, Schengen, Pacific Alliance (Colombia, Peru, Chile) DO NOT require a Mexican visa to travel on business, tourism, or transit purpose for or less than 180 days as long as they present any of the mentioned documents at the point of entry.

Immigration authorities keep the right to grant or deny entry to the country. Officials can request information regarding the purpose and length of your trip, as well as the means to cover your expenses while you stay in the country.  

::PROCEDURE TO APPLY FOR A MEXICAN VISA::

 

Step 1: Prepare your documents according to the visa type that you will apply for (See below requirements for each type of visa).

 

Visitor visa without permission to do remunerative activities

All required documents must reflect complete name as shown in passport.

  1. Original valid passport and a clear photocopy of the first and last page (vertical).
  2. Proof of legal stay in India (Visa copy) in case the applicant holds another nationality.

  4. One recent passport-sized photograph (4.5 CM X 3.5 CM), white background, without glasses. Face should cover 80% of the photo.
  5. Original cover letter given by your employer indicating the purpose and length of the trip.
  6. Appointment letter. All employees must have been working at least 1 year in the same company.
  7. Letter of invitation from the Mexican company indicating the purpose and length of the trip.
  8. Original pay slips (last 3 months).
  9. Original personal bank statement or pass book  (last 3 months) certified by the bank.
  10. Personal Income Tax Return (ITR) or Form 16 (1 year).
  11. Visa fee ($44 US Dollars payable in INR at the current exchange rate).

If the applicant is a business owner, they must also include the following documents:   

  • Partnership deed which should include the name of the applicant or Company Registration before the State Government, duly apostilled.
  • Income Tax Return of the Company for the last two years.
  • Company Bank Statement  for the last three months.

    • Mission/objective of the organization or institution (private or public).
    • Complete address and contact information of the organization or institution.
    • Information of the activity or project that the guest is doing in the organization.
    • Estimated duration of the activity that the guest will undertake.
    • The letter will have to explicitly mention the commitment of the organization or institution to cover all expenses of the person invited during his/her stay in Mexico and the commitment of his return to his/her country of residence.
    • Copy of an official identification with signature and photography of the person that will sign this letter. 
  10. Original and photocopy of bank statements or investment proofs of the Mexican organization or institution (last 12 months).
  11. A document attesting that the applicant has the experience to carry out the activity for which he is invited (example: original degree or educational certificate).
  12. Visa fee ($44 US Dollars payable in INR at the current exchange rate).

Temporary Resident Visa (For work or family reunion with NUT)

The employer must submit the application before the local office of the National Immigration Institute (INAMI) in Mexico, www.inm.gob.mx.

 

INAMI will issue an authorization for an interview at the closest Consulate or Consular Section. Once the applicant has this authorization, he/she needs to submit the following documents, in person, at the nearest Consulate:

  1. Original valid passport and a clear photocopy of the first and last page (vertical).
  2. Proof of legal stay in India (Visa copy) in case the applicant holds another nationality.

The main applicant is the person who already holds a Temporary/Permanent Resident Card. The main applicant must accompany the dependants during the visa application procedure.

    • Copy of an official identification with signature and photography of the person that will sign this letter.
  10. Original and photocopy of bank statements or investment proofs of the Mexican organization or institution (last 12 months).
  11. A document attesting that the applicant has the experience to carry out the activity for which he is invited (example: original degree or educational certificate).
  12. Visa fee ($44 US Dollars payable in INR at the current exchange rate).

NOTE:

  • Personal presence of the applicant is mandatory for biometric process and interview.
  • The Consular Section may request further forms of proof depending on each case.
  • If the applicant fulfils all requirements, visa processing takes two working days.
  • Having a Mexican visa gives the possibility to travel to the country, but the entry to Mexican territory is subject to the final decision of the Immigration and Health Authorities in the country.

Step 2: Book an appointment through MEXITEL (APPOINTMENTS ARE FREE OF CHARGE)

Be informed that the Embassy does NOT book/grant appointments, If the message “no office found” appears, it means that there are no appointments available. ALL appointments must be scheduled via MEXITEL.

 

Step 3: Pay visa application fee

Starting January 1st, 2017, all visa applications submitted to the Embassy of Mexico will cost $44.00 USD payable in INR at the current exchange rate. Payment is non-refundable and also does not guarantee that the visa application will be approved.  

Application fee for July 2021: INR 3,347 only.

Step 4: Attend your appointment. Bring all your documents and payment receipt.

When you book your appointment through MEXITEL you will receive a confirmation letter in your email which you must carry with you the day of your appointment. On that date, we will take a photograph and fingerprints. Also, we will conduct and interview to confirm the purpose of the trip.

 

Remember that payment is nonrefundable and needs to be done prior to the submission of documents. To avoid inconveniences, please make sure that you bring your complete documents.

 

Step 5: Collect your passport

If your application is approved, visa processing time takes 2 working days. You have to collect your passport in person. Please plan accordingly. Passport can also be collected by another individual with a letter of authorization and ID copy of the authorized person. Collection timings are from 15:30 to 16:00 (suspended).

 

::IMPORTANT::

If you are granted a Mexican visa you will be able to travel to Mexico. Immigration authorities keep the right to grant or deny entry to the country. Officials can request information regarding the purpose and length of your trip, as well as the means to cover your expenses while you stay in the country.

Mexican immigration authorities will verify the authenticity of all documents you present and the truthfulness of the information you provide. They will also confirm that no outright restriction exists to enter the country. 

INFORMATION FOR PARENTS WITH MINOR APPLICANTS

Note that as per visa process, all applicants including children need to give biometrics. Please talk to your child before your visit to the Consular Section and prepare her/him for the same in order to process their application in a timely manner.

NOTICE FOR VISA APPLICANTS:

  1. Mask is compulsory.
  2. Be informed that on the entrance of Embassy, temperature will be check.
  3. All the documents should be in one folder (plastic).
  4. Bring all the required stationary) with you (pencil, pen, glue stick etc.)
  5. Be informed that if any document is missing or you are unable to provide it at the time of document submission, you will have to take a new appointment using the Mexitel site.
  6. To avoid inconvenience, please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time.  

 Please be informed that these measures have been taken for the safety of the applicants and the Consular staff.

NOTICE FOR ALL APPLICANTS:

As per international travel regulations, a passport MUST be valid at least six months at the time of your trip, for any queries, contact your airline.

DO NOT PAY visa fee before securing an appointment. Visa fee must be paid after scheduling an appointment and before the document’s submission. Be sure to pay exact amount ONLY.
