THE STATE OF YUCATÁN PROMOTES ITS TOURIST DESTINATIONS AT THE INTERNATIONAL TOURISM FAIR OF BUDAPEST – UTAZÁS 2018

Budapest, Hungary, March 5th, 2018. – The Federal State of Yucatán – through its Secretariat of Tourism Development together with the Secretariat of Tourism and the Tourism Promotion Council of Mexico, as well as the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs through the Embassy of Mexico in Hungary – participated at the International Tourism Fair of Budapest – UTAZÁS 2018. 

During this event, the most important tourism convention held in Hungary for more than 40 years, Mr. Raúl Paz, Planning Director of the Secretariat of Tourism Development of Yucatán, held working meetings with tour operators, travel agencies and companies interested in considering Yucatan as a travel destination among the options offered to the Hungarian market.

Besides, interviews were given to specialized media to which the natural, historical and archaeological attractions of Yucatán were exposed. Following the program of activities, a presentation was offered inviting the attendees of the event to visit Yucatan, where promotional videos produced by the Secretariat of Tourist Development of Yucatan were also displayed. It provoked a remarkable interest by the visitors, the Mexican pavilion was attended for consultation by nearly 600 potential tourists interested in taking a trip to Mexico.

This is the first time that Mexico participates in the Budapest International Tourism Fair | UTAZÁS 2018, one of the most important ones in Central Europe. The presence of Mexico in this event is derived from the invitation made by the Government of Hungary within the framework of the Protocol on Economic Cooperation between Mexico and Hungary, signed in November 2017. UTAZÁS 2018 received more than 30 thousand visitors this year.
