THE EMBASSY OF MEXICO PARTICIPATED IN THE DIPLOMATS’ CUP OF THE K&H HALF MARATHON RELAY OF BUDAPEST 2016

The Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (KKM) and the Budapest Sport Office (BSI) called upon the Diplomat’s Cup this year for the members of the diplomatic corps – embassies and consulates – and the representatives of the Hungarian cultural institutes on Sunday, June 12th, 2016 in the K&H Half Marathon Relay in Budapest. The Embassy of Mexico in Budapest with its 3 member team has also joined the initiative in order to promote the group and team work and to bolster bonds of friendship between the diplomatic corps stationed in this country.

The Diplomats’ Cup was held in the framework of the biggest relay marathon of Central and Eastern Europe, in the 23rd K&H Move! Half Relay Marathon that included the participation of 1875 runners. Nevertheless, groups of the Embassy of Spain, Russia, United States, Italy, Malaysia and Poland, as well as representatives of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, participated in such competition as well.

Furthermore, it should be pointed out that the organizers used the participation fees of the diplomatic teams entirely for charitable purposes. This money was donated to the Hungarian Interchurch Aid.

The personnel of the Embassy of Mexico in Budapest accompanied the Mexican runners in the marathon that they finished successfully with excellent results. Two employers of the Representation and one Mexican resident in Budapest were part of the Mexican team: Max Castro Antonio, Máté László Tagaj e Ilandy Arellano Hernández.

Congratulations for the marathon runners!
