THE EXHIBITON OF THE WINNER DRAWINGS OF THE 19TH “ÉSTE ES MI MÉXICO” CHILDREN’S DRAWING CONTEST WAS INAUGURATED THE 30TH OF JANUARY IN THE MUSEUM OF CARACOL

The exhibition organized by the Institute of Mexicans Abroad (IME) is composed of 50 drawings made by children between seven and eleven years old from 12 countries, that reflects their feeling and way of looking on the world, just like a colorful and magic meeting with themselves.

It highlights the form how children perceive themselves and how they are looking for getting renowned in their right to have fun, to play, to have a family, to be listened to and have access to education.

During 2016, the exhibition will be presented in different countries through the network of Embassies and Consulates of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) of Mexico with the purpose of promoting Mexico through artistic expression.

The inauguration ceremony was led by Francisco de la Torre Counsellor, Executive Director of the IME; Julieta Gil, Director of the Gallery of History – Museum of Caracol; Erándi Almazán Arciniega, juryman of the contest and representative of “Wings and Roots”, program of the Ministry of Culture in favor of the expression of the children; Carmen Parra, teacher, godmother of the contest and the representatives of the diplomatic corps.

The Museum of Caracol is located on the access ramp to the Castle of Chapultepec, in the first section of Chapultepec Forest, in the borough of Miguel Hidalgo. It is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 9:00 to 16:15 o’clock.

MEXICAN PARTICIPATION IN THE V. DIPLOMATIC FAIR ORGANIZED BY THE “DIPLOMATIC SPOUSES OF BUDAPEST” (DSB) IN THE HOTEL INTERCONTINENTAL

The Mexican Embassy in Hungary participated in the V. Diplomatic Fair organized by the "Diplomatic Spouses of Budapest" (DSB) association in the Hotel InterContinental of Budapest. The even took place the 29th (Sunday) of November 2015 where more than 40 Diplomatic Representations were present in order to support three institutions that work with children with mental disabilities and an orphanage.

The Honorary President of the Association, Anita Herzegh, the wife of the President of Hungary, also participated in the event and visited personally all the international stands to greet the exhibitors.

The Embassy of Mexico coordinated the presence of two stands with Mexican products and food. We counted on the help of the Mexican businessman Ramón Tuma, owner of the “Tacos Locos” restaurant and with the support of Rodrigo Berlanga from the “El Mexicano” taquería. Moreover, Mr. István Baka silver jewelry importer from Taxco summed up with his stand. The event was enlivened with the music of our one-man mariachi band in Hungary, the Mexican Jesús Bañuelos.
