MEXICO PARTICIPATES IN THE INTERNATIONAL TOURISM FAIR IN BUDAPEST 

  • Yucatan is one of the regions with the greatest number of archaeological sites and historical places, recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
  • The presence of Yucatan in UTAZÁS 2018 is the result of the inter-institutional efforts of the Government of the Federal State of Yucatán, the Mexican Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico through the Embassy of Mexico in Hungary.

Budapest, Hungary, 1st of March 2018. – Mexico will participate for the first time in the International Tourism Fair in Budapest | UTAZÁS 2018, with the presence of the Federal State of Yucatan as an invited tourist destination to be promoted in this event.

This participation is derived from the invitation made by the Government of Hungary within the framework of the agreements signed in the Protocol on Economic Cooperation between Mexico and Hungary, signed in November 2017. The presence of Yucatan in UTAZÁS 2018 is a result of the interinstitutional efforts of the Government of Yucatan, through Mexico’s Secretariat of Tourism Promotion; of the Ministry of Tourism, through the Office in Berlin of the Tourist Promotion Council; and the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs of Mexico through the Embassy of Mexico in Hungary.

During UTAZÁS 2018 it is planned to promote the attractions of Yucatan among the main tour operators such as the Hungarian travel agencies, wholesale intermediaries and public-sector authorities specialized in the field of tourism promotion.

Yucatan is one of the regions with the largest number of archaeological sites and historical sites, recognized as World Heritage by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), among which it is possible to mention the pyramids of Chichen-Itzá; and other places of great attraction such as the colonial haciendas, the cenotes (natural pits), ecological reserves and places where anyone can enjoy a friendly tourist environment in the nature and also have high quality tourist services, particularly the Yucatecan gastronomy.
