THE INSTITUTE OF MEXICANS ABROAD RELEASED THE RESULTS OF THE 20TH EDITION OF THE “THIS IS MY MEXICO” CHILDREN’S DRAWING CONTEST 2016 - “LET’S DRAW ABOUT MEXICAN MUSIC AND TRADITIONS”

On 16th and 17th November the 12 winning drawings and 50 drawings awarded with honorable mention were selected, a total of 62 pieces that will comprise the “Children’s Drawing Contest Exhibition 2016” that will take place in Mexico City the first months of 2017, afterwards it will become a travelling exhibition abroad.

The 12 winning drawings are:

  1. Elia Daniela Torres Hernández and Elliot Alejandra Vargas from the Liaison Office of Ciudad Valles in San Luis Potosí, 14 and 13 years old
  2. Mario Emilio Téllez Quiroga and Santiago Ortega Pizaña from the Delegation in Coahuila, 11 years old
  3. Ingrid Maza Alfaro and Karyme Isabel Alfaro García from the Delegation in Chiapas, 13 and 14 years old
  4. Tania Linette Ahumada and Maryferh Rubio Sagahon from the Liaison Office of Ciudad Valles in San Luis Potosí, 13 years old
  5. Liam Antonio Romero from the Consulate of Mexico in Douglas, Arizona, 7 years old
  6. Sergio Chávez from the Consulate of Mexico in Oxnard, California, 9 years old
  7. Grecia Carcamo and Ninette Fernández from the Consulate of Mexico in Eagle Pass, Texas, 9 and 10 years old
  8. Drawing without name from the Consulate of Mexico in Sacramento, California, 11 years old
  9. Kacper Cwik, Radostaw Oszajca and Jan Hotowinski from the Embassy of Mexico in Poland, 9 years old
  10. Zerlynde Goik and Zuwer Goik from the Embassy of Mexico in Malaysia, 12 and 9 years old
  11. Zoja Olsouka and Laura Sefccuie from the Embassy of Mexico in Austria, 14 years old
  12. Oliwia Walotek, Ham Rogala, Bernadeta Kolodzie and Marcel Arzesuny from the Embassy of Mexico in Poland, 13 years old

In this twentieth edition of the contest a total of 11,473 original drawings was sent to the Institute of Mexicans Abroad from 40 Consulates of Mexico in the United States, 3 in Canada, 38 Representations in the rest of the world and 35 Delegations of the Mexican Secretary of Foreign Affairs in national territory. We congratulate to all of the participants and hope to receive a lot of drawings the next year as well!
