Travelers with nationality of the Russian Federation, Ukraine and Türkiye obtain their electronic visa SAE. The electronic visa is valid for one entry only, it should be used on the next thirty (30) days from the date of issuance and it applies for passenger who arrive by air only. If your nationality requires visa, the Government of Mexico may exempt you of visa requirement if you hold one of the following documents:

  • Permanent residence permit for the United States of America, Canada, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Irland, Japan, member states of the Schengen Area and member state of the Pacific Alliance.
  • Valid visa for the United States of America, Canada, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Irland, Japan and member states of the Schengen Area Visa. For Schengen visas, please be sure that is a type “C”, with multiple entries and valid for all Schengen states.

If you need to apply for visa, please be aware that applications must be submitted in person, and it is necessary to book an appointment exclusively at https://citas.sre.gob.mx/. There is no possibility to schedule appointments by phone or e-mail. Each applicant must have its own appointment.

Required documents:

  • Visa application form.
  • Valid passport at least six (6) months from the date of entry into Mexico.
  • One (1) color photograph with visible face & without glasses 3.5 x 4.5 cm size.
  • Proof of legal stay in Greece (residence permit, visa or migratory entry stamp).
  • Documents evidencing any of the following conditions (applicants have different options): 

Stability in the country of origin or residence:

  1. Original and copy of real estate ownership documents and proof of stable employment with minimum seniority of two (2) years, or
  2. Original and copy of real estate ownership documents and documents proving business activities during the las two (2) years, issued by the competent authorities.

Financial solvency:

  1. Original and copy of documents proving a stable employment with a seniority of at least one year and bank accounts statements (payroll account) for the last three months, or
  2. Original and copy of proof of investments or bank accounts statements for the last three months.
  3. In the case of students, proof of enrolment into studies must be presented and proof of employment, scholarship of bank account statements for the last three months. For students under the age of 25 years old, bank account statement of parents may be accepted.

  1. Object and purpose of the institution.
  2. Full address and contact information of the institution.
  3. Information regarding the activities to be performed by the invited person.
  • Length or estimated dates of the activity or project to be performed.
  • Commitment to assume all travel and housing expenses of the invited person.
  1. ID copy if the person signing the invitation letter.

In order for the institution to prove that has the capacity to cover the expenses mentioned at point viii., it is required to provide bank account statement of the institution for the last twelve months. 

Public and private institutions of the National Education System do not require to prove financial solvency.

All visitor for paid activities must obtain visa before their travel to Mexico, independently of their nationality.

At first stage, visa application must be presented by the Mexican employer directly upon the National Migration Institute.

Once the National Migration Institute assigns the applicant’s registration number NUT, the applicant must book an appointment for the consular interview exclusively at https://citas.sre.gob.mx/. There is no possibility to schedule appointments by phone or e-mail.     

Required documents:

  • Visa application form.
  • Valid passport at least six (6) months from the date of entry into Mexico.
  • One (1) color photograph with visible face & without glasses 3.5 x 4.5 cm size.
  • Proof of legal stay in Greece (residence permit, visa or migratory entry stamp).
  • Official letter issued by the National Migration Institute indicating the NUT number and applicants’ personal information (complete name, nationality and passport number).

Important information

  • The consular interview will be conducted in Spanish, English or Greek language.
  • The National Migration Institute is the only competent authority to approve or deny the application. The final decision may take up to 10 labor days.
  • In this regard, applicants are strongly encouraged to apply for the visa upon the Mexican embassy or consulate in their country of residence or origin.
  • The visa is valid for 180 days.
  • The visa application fee is 54 USD payable in euros, and is non-refundable if the application is denied.
  • In case that the visa is approved, applicants must pay the migratory fee: 313.00 USD, to be paid in euros.
  • Payments will be accepted only through deposit at the account of the Embassy of Mexico at Alpha Bank. The account number will be provided to applicant during the consular interview.

Foreign citizens who intend to travel to Mexico for employment purposes must obtain visa before their travel to Mexico, independently of their nationality.

In order to apply for this type of visa, the Mexican family member or the foreign citizen with a valid residence permit for Mexico is currently abroad and attend the consular interview together with the applicant.  

The applicant must book an appointment for the consular interview exclusively at https://citas.sre.gob.mx/. There is no possibility to schedule appointments by phone or e-mail.     

Required documents:

  • Visa application form.
  • Valid passport at least six (6) months from the date of entry into Mexico.
  • One (1) color photograph with visible face & without glasses 3.5 x 4.5 cm size.
  • Proof of legal stay in Greece (residence permit, visa or migratory entry stamp).
  • Proof of family relationship with a Mexican citizen of a foreign citizen with residence in Mexico: birth certificate or marriage certificate.
  • Mexican passport of the family member of the applicant attending the consular interview, or Mexican residence permit of the foreign citizen if this is the case.
  • If the foreign citizen who invites the applicant does not have a Mexican residence permit yet, Mexican temporary visa may be accept in lieu. In this case, proof of financial solvency must be presented (bank account statements for the las 12 months).
