El Presidente Enrique Peña Nieto recibió el 12 de octubre al Primer Ministro de Finlandia, Juha Sipilä. A lo largo de la reunión, los Mandatarios destacaron el excelente estado del diálogo político bilateral y la importancia de la visita de Estado del Presidente Sauli Niinistö a México, en mayo de 2015, para dar un impulso renovado a los vínculos entre México y Finlandia, que ha detonado un aumento significativo de visitas en ambas direcciones de empresarios, investigadores, parlamentarios, académicos y altas autoridades de diversos sectores.

Asimismo, el Presidente y el Primer Ministro se congratularon por el 80° aniversario de la firma del Tratado de Amistad, el cual estableció las relaciones diplomáticas entre ambos países.

El Presidente Enrique Peña Nieto subrayó el deseo de su gobierno de seguir trabajando con Finlandia para incrementar los intercambios económicos y fortalecer la cooperación educativa, científica y de capacitación en las Operaciones de Mantenimiento de la Paz de la ONU.

Por su parte, el Primer Ministro Sipilä reiteró la invitación para que el Presidente Peña Nieto visite Finlandia y destacó el interés de su gobierno en aprovechar las oportunidades de colaboración que se desprenden de las reformas estructurales, principalmente en materia de telecomunicaciones. El Presidente y el Primer Ministro también intercambiaron impresiones sobre la situación de sus respectivas regiones.

Durante su estancia en México, el Primer Ministro Sipilä sostuvo diversos encuentros oficiales y privados, acompañado de una importante delegación de empresarios finlandeses de los sectores de telecomunicaciones y de tecnología de la información.

President Peña Nieto met with Prime Minister of Finland Juha Sipilä

President Enrique Peña Nieto received Prime Minister of Finland Juha Sipilä on October 12th. During the meeting, the leaders highlighted the excellent state of bilateral political dialogue and the importance of President Sauli Niinistö’s state visit to Mexico in May 2015 to give a renewed impetus to the ties between Mexico and Finland, which triggered a significant increase in visits in both directions of entrepreneurs, researchers, parliamentarians, academics and senior officials from various sectors.

The president and the prime minister welcomed the 80th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship, which established diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The Mexican president underlined his government's desire to continue working with Finland to increase economic exchanges and strengthen educational, scientific and training cooperation in UN Peacekeeping Operations.

For his part, Prime Minister Sipilä highlighted his government’s interest in leveraging the opportunities for collaboration derived from the structural reforms, particularly in telecommunications. The president and the prime minister also exchanged views on the situation in their respective regions.

During his stay in Mexico, Prime Minister Sipilä held various official and private meetings, accompanied by a large delegation of Finnish businessmen from the telecommunications and information technology.
