Mexican Government Scholarships for International Students 2017
On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy of Mexico invites Finnish citizens who are interested in studying for a specialization, master’s degree or doctorate, conducting graduate or postdoctoral research, or taking part in an undergraduate or graduate-level academic mobility program, to participate in the 2017 Mexican Government Scholarship Program for International Students.
The scholarships are offered to more than 180 countries through a series of bilateral conventions, multilateral programs and special agreements. More than 90 Mexican institutions participate and all offer academic programs registered with the National Council for Science and Technology (CONACYT) as National Quality Graduate Programs.

The application must include a motivation letter, a curriculum vitae, a letter of acceptance from the University, a copy of the Certificate of the latest completed degree, a copy of a Study Record of the latest completed degree certifying a minimum average of 08/10, a copy of the Birth Certificate, a copy of the passport, a medical certificate issued by a public institution, 4 recent photographs, a letter of acceptance of the General Conditions with a handwritten signature, as well as the following forms: “Formato de postulación oficial del Gobierno del candidato” and “Formato de solicitud”. Please note that the documents included in the applications will not be returned.
Scholarships are offered only in the areas of knowledge and institutions expressly stated in the 2017 call. Note that the applications that do not meet all the requirements of the Call will not be considered in the selection process.
For the year 2017, the offering for Finland in the bilateral framework includes 4 new scholarships: (3 available from January and 1 from August 2017).
In addition, the following scholarships are offered:
• 15 scholarships for undergraduate, master's and doctorate studies at El Colegio de Mexico (COLMEX).
• 25 scholarships for master's and doctorate studies at Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales (FLACSO), México.
These scholarships will be distributed among all the received applications, based on their qualifications, without fixed country-based quotas. These scholarships are awarded in addition to the quota of scholarships offered in the bilateral framework, and the selection of suitable applicants will be made by FLACSO and COLMEX themselves.
The call is open until September 23rd 2016. All applications must be submitted physically to the Embassy of Mexico by October 1st.
The results will be announced starting from November 22nd 2016, through the Embassy of Mexico.
