Defensa de Finlandia
Está en la conciencia universal que la República de Finlandia es un Estado democrático y que las ideas políticas por él mantenidas y fomentadas son de libertad, en el sentido más amplio del concepto. Además, Finlandia es un país pequeño y débil comparado con las grandes potencias. El deseo de este pueblo, de mantenerse libre y de prosperar apoyado en sus instituciones respetables, emanadas de su voluntad, es ostensible, y si a esto se agrega la simpatía que le ha sido demostrada por sus vecinos, los demás pueblos escandinavos, todos ellos dignos del más alto respeto, se hace necesario concluir que Finlandia merece consideración de parte de las naciones civilizadas que también viven en el seno de las instituciones democráticas.
Es ilógico y contrario a la dignidad humana que países de esta calidad superior no puedan disfrutar pacíficamente de los beneficios de su adelanto y de su amor a la libertad. Ante la agresión de que es víctima el pueblo finlandés, el pueblo y el gobierno de México le expresan su cordial simpatía, una vez más, en los mismos términos en que la expresaron a los países que forman el "Grupo Oslo", reunidos recientemente en la ciudad de Estocolmo, a iniciativa de su majestad el rey de Suecia, y le hacen presente su deseo por la conservación de la paz y de la seguridad de todos ellos.

Suomen puolustus
On yleisesti tiedossa, että Suomen tasavalta on demokraattinen valtio, jonka vaalimat poliittiset aatteet perustuvat vapauteen sanan laajimmassa merkityksessä. Suomi on myös maana pieni ja heikko suurvaltoihin verrattuna. On ilmeistä, että tämä kansa haluaa pysyä vapaana ja kukoistaa kunnioitettavien, kansan tahtoon pohjautuvien instituutioidensa tukemana. Kun lisäksi huomioidaan myötätunto, jota muut, mitä korkeimman kunnioituksen ansaitsevat Pohjoismaat ovat naapurilleen osoittaneet, on todettava, että Suomi ansaitsee muiden sivistyneiden ja demokraattisiin instituutioihin tukeutuvien kansojen huomion.
On epäloogista ja ihmisarvon vastaista, etteivät näin arvokkaat maat saa rauhassa nauttia edistyksestään ja rakkaudestaan vapauteen. Sen hyökkäyksen edessä, jonka uhriksi Suomen kansa on joutunut, Meksikon kansa ja hallitus ilmaisevat sille vielä kerran sydämellisen myötätuntonsa – samalla tavalla kuin ilmaisimme sen "Oslon ryhmän" jäsenmaille, jotka kokoontuivat äskettäin Tukholmaan Ruotsin kuninkaan kutsusta – sekä toiveensa rauhan säilymisen ja kaikkien suomalaisten turvallisuuden puolesta.

Finnish defence
It is in the universal consciousness that the Republic of Finland is a democratic State and that the political ideas in which believes and it promotes are of freedom, in the broadest sense of the term. Besides, Finland is small and weak country in comparison to big powers. The wish from the people of this nation, to maintain freedom and progress with the support of respectable institutions, resulting from its willingness, is obvious. And if this is added to the sympathy showed by neighbor countries, the rest of the Scandinavian nations, all of them worth of great respect, it is necessary to conclude that Finland deserves consideration from the civilized nations that also live within democratic institutions.
It is illogical and contrary to human dignity that countries with this superior status cannot peacefully enjoy the benefits derived from its advancement and love for freedom. In the face of the attack undergone by the Finnish people, the people and the Government of Mexico would like to express warm sympathy, once again, in the terms it was expressed to the countries of the “Oslo Group”, who met recently in Stockholm under the initiative of His Majesty the King of Sweden, while reaffirming the wish for peace and security to all of them.
