LIST OF REQUIREMENTS FOR FILIPINO SEAFARERS
TO APPLY FOR A TRANSIT VISA TO ENTER MEXICO

  • Duly filled up Application Form.  (Available from the Embassy or downloadable from the website: visa forms). For minors, both parents must sign the application form.
  • Passport (with validity of at least six months).
  • Photocopies of the passport.
  • A photocopy of the U.S, Canadian, U.K., Japan, or Shengen Visa (if any) is required depending on the route of the trip.
  • Valid Seafarer’s Identification and Record Book issued by the authorized Officer from the Maritime Industry Authority, Department of Transportation and Communication, with a minimum of at least six months experience in the maritime activities.photocopy is required of the pages containing information and picture of the holderbook renewal information page and the page containing the signature of the Issuing Officer.
  • Guarantee Letter from the authorized shipping line in the Philippines (original)
  • A copy of the Guarantee Letter from the authorized Mexican shipping agency/company sent from Mexico to the Embassy by Fax (No. (+63) (2) 892-7535) or Email (Esta dirección de correo electrónico está siendo protegida contra los robots de spam. Necesita tener JavaScript habilitado para poder verlo.), stating the duration of staydate of departure of the ship from Mexico, as well as indicating the port where ship will board and next port of boarding/call.

    Original AND photocopy of the Certification of Employment issued by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration.
