The Embassy of Mexico in the United States informs that an incident occurred this morning in the building which houses the Mexican Consulate, located at 1250 23rd Street NW, in Washington, D.C. In the upper floors of the building, an individual was arrested, during which police officers surrounded the building. The incident occurred outside the area of the consulate and did not affect staff working at the consulate, nor Mexican nationals present at the time.

 

However, upon being informed of the events by the authorities, and following their recommendations, consular services were temporarily suspended and appointments were rescheduled.

 

At 13:30 hours, access to the building was reopened and consular activities resumed.
