The Embassy of Mexico in the United States informs that Ambassador Gerónimo Gutiérrez will travel to the city of New Orleans, Louisiana, this Saturday, April 21st, as part of the efforts of the Government of Mexico to broaden and deepen ties with local and state actors in United States.

 

At the invitation of the Mayor, Mitchell J. Landrieu, Ambassador Gutiérrez will participate in the events to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the establishment of the city, an occasion in which the contributions of diverse countries to New Orleans will be recognized.

 

As part of the festivities, the diplomatic representative will head the inauguration of the Mexican Cultural Institute in New Orleans, where currently the “Decoding the Purity of an Icon” exhibition, by the Mexican-American artist Belinda Flores-Shinshillas, is on display.

 

The visit to New Orleans is a part of the visits that the Ambassador and other officials from the Foreign Ministry conduct on a regular basis to broaden trade, cultural, educational, academic, political and business relations, as well as consolidate political alliances with different actors in the United States.
