Applicable to foreigners who intend to enter Mexico as a temporary resident student.
Foreigners who have the status of Temporary Student Resident may request authorization from the National Institute of Migration to carry out remunerated activities in national territory.
Requirements:
1. Passport or identity and travel document that is valid in accordance with international law and in force, in original;
2. Original of the document proving their legal stay, if the foreigner is not a national of the country where they are applying for the visa, and
3. Submit the documents that prove any of the following cases:
- Studies
- Under an International Legal Instrument on the Mobility of Persons
Solvency may be accredited by the applicant, by his parents or by whoever exercises parental authority or guardianship, provided that they are not older than twenty-five years of age, or with a letter from the educational institution that proves that he or she has been the beneficiary of a scholarship or document from a banking or financial institution that proves that he or she has the financing.
Note: The temporary student residence card that proves their legal stay and allows them to remain in national territory must be processed within the following 30 calendar days from their entry into the national territory.
Payment of duties:
For the reception, application and, if applicable, authorization of the visa, the amount of 54.00 USD must be paid, in cash and in an exact amount.

Once you meet the requirements to apply for your visa, you must schedule an appointment through the "MiConsulado" portal https://www.miconsulado.sre.gob.mx/ or https://www.miconsulado.sre.gob.mx/citas-consulares.
Important information: Having a visa does not guarantee entry to national territory. It only allows the foreigner to present himself at the point of entry to apply for entry into the country.
Entry or entry into Mexico is conditional on the approval of the health and immigration authorities at the points of entry into the country, known as immigration filters, who may at any time conduct an interview about the reason for their trip and verify the requirements established in the applicable legal provisions (Article 37 of the Migration Law and 60 of its Regulations).
