Applicable to foreigners who intend to enter Mexico in the condition of temporary resident stay in order to stay for a period of more than 180 days and not more than 4 years.

This type of visa allows the foreigner to work in our country, as long as the salary he receives is paid abroad.

In the event of having a job offer in Mexico and receiving their salary in national territory, the company or individual must previously obtain authorization for the issuance of a foreigner's visa directly from the National Institute of Migration.

Requirements:

1. Passport or identity and travel document that is valid in accordance with international law and in force, in original;

2. Original of the document proving their legal stay, if the foreigner is not a national of the country where they are applying for the visa, and

3. Submit the documents that prove any of the following cases:

  • Economic solvency.
  • Scientific research in jurisdictional waters of Mexico.
  • Invitation from an organization or a public or private institution.
  • Under an international legal instrument on the mobility of persons.
  • Family Unit.
  • Real estate in national territory.

NOTE: In any case, the foreigner must apply within the following 30 calendar days from entering the national territory, the residence card that proves their legal stay and allows them to remain in national territory.

Payment of duties:

For the reception, application and, if applicable, authorization of the visa, the amount of 54.00 USD must be paid, in cash and in an exact amount.

Important information: Having a visa does not guarantee entry to national territory. It only allows the foreigner to present himself at the point of entry to apply for entry into the country.

Entry or entry into Mexico is conditional on the approval of the health and immigration authorities at the points of entry into the country, known as immigration filters, who may at any time conduct an interview about the reason for their trip and verify the requirements established in the applicable legal provisions (Article 37 of the Migration Law and 60 of its Regulations).
