PROCEDURE:

1.       Read the information below regarding the documents necessary to request a visa.

2.     Once you have all the documents, request an appointment by email at Esta dirección de correo electrónico está siendo protegida contra los robots de spam. Necesita tener JavaScript habilitado para poder verlo. and send a PDF copy of the data page of your passport.

The appointment request must be made directly by the interested person, not a third party. Travel agents cannot book visa appointments for their clients.

3.   The Embassy will set the appointment on the earliest available date. THERE ARE NO URGENT APPOINTMENTS. Mention the date of your trip in your email. Note that having an airplane ticket and a hotel reservation does not guarantee a favorable result in the visa application.

4. The applicant must present the required documentation on the interview day.

5.     Once the consular interview has been performed, the Embassy will notify you via email of the visa application result.

 

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED:

 

1.      VISA APPLICATION FORM (ONE FOR EACH TRAVELER)

Duly completed in English or Spanish (Latin characters) and signed by the applicant.

 

For minors or persons with intellectual disabilities, BOTH PARENTS or persons with legal guardianship must sign the application form.

 

2.     PASSPORT 

It must be valid for at least six months from the intended entry into Mexico.

Good quality photocopies of the personal data pages that contain the following information:

·       Passport number, signature, validity period, or renewals.

·       Original and photocopies of previous passports, visas, and entry stamps.

 

3.     VISA APPLICATION FEE USD 53.00

Payment is NOT REFUNDABLE, regardless of the visa application result.

Pay in cash, ONLY IN DOLLARS, on the day of the interview with banknotes in good condition issued after 2007.

 

4.    ONE RECENT PHOTO (NO MORE THAN 30 DAYS OLD)

Size: 3.5 x 2.5 cm, color, visible face, no glasses, front view, white background, NO DIGITAL RETOUCH (NO PHOTOSHOP).

 

5.     THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS IN ORIGINAL AND PHOTOCOPIES:

a) The last six months' bank statements and a letter from the bank specifying the account opening date and financial balance. This documentation must be issued the same month as the scheduled appointment and duly signed and stamped by the bank.

b)    Employment letter/H.R. letter addressed to the Embassy of Mexico, issued on letterhead paper, stating the applicant's position, period of employment, monthly and annual salary, the company's contact details, and the name and position of the person that signs. This letter must be issued in the same month as the scheduled appointment.

c)   In the case of business owners: commercial registry, tax card, and certificate of membership to the Chamber of Commerce.

d)    Original and copy of property deed of the duly registered properties under the name of the applicant with at least two years of ownership and a document attesting the property or participation in businesses, with a minimum of two years issued by competent authorities of the respective country

e)     For economic dependents (spouse, children under 25 years old), documents that prove the family relation.

 

VISAS FOR MINORS

In addition to the required above documents:

  • If the minor travels with one parent only, it is necessary to present a document issued by the Ministry of Justice stating that the parent who will not travel authorizes the minor to go to Mexico with the other parent.
  • A certified copy of the minor's birth certificate in English or Spanish is needed to prove the filiation.
  • Both parents must attend the consular interview to authorize the minor's trip. Please bring a valid ID (passport).
  • Mexican Migration Law imposes severe restrictions on children traveling alone or in the company of adults other than their parents. Therefore, those traveling with children must provide legal proof of the relationship.

 

VISAS FOR STUDENTS

In addition to the required above documents:

·       Letter from the Education Institution where they will study in Mexico, on letterhead paper. It must include the following:

·       Name of the applicant and nationality,

·       Name of the institution and registry number in Mexico,

·       Name of a contact person who is a representative of the institution,

·       Name and details of the course,

·       Grade of the course (graduate, undergraduate, or others),

·       Starting and end dates of the course,

·      Tuition cost. If the student received a scholarship, please indicate the amount in the letter.

 

VISAS FOR BUSINESS TRIPS OR INVITATIONS BY AN ORGANIZATION

In addition to the required documents:

  • An original invitation letter issued by a Mexican public or private organization stating the applicant's personal information, reason and length of stay in Mexico, and whether the entity will be responsible for the applicant's trip expenses. The letter is valid only if issued on letterhead, including the company's contact details, and is signed. The official ID of the signatory must be attached.
  • The last twelve months' bank statements of the organization that extends the invitation and will cover the expenses must be provided
  • Documents with which the person proves that they have the experience, capacity, skills, or knowledge necessary to develop the activity for which they are being invited, in original and copy.

 

"WORKING VISA"

Foreign travelers to Mexico need a working visa to perform any remunerated activity.

·       To apply for this visa, applicants must have previous authorization from the National Immigration Institute (INM) in Mexico.

·       Your prospective employer must request the authorization and complete the paperwork at the INM in Mexico.

 

CONSULAR INTERVIEW

· Arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment. 

·  Companions are not allowed. Only the applicant can enter the Embassy.

·   Entrance with large bags or backpacks is not allowed.

 

The applicant is responsible for COMPLETELY providing the abovementioned requirements on the interview day.

THE EMBASSY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CANCEL THE APPOINTMENT IF THE DOCUMENTATION IS INCOMPLETE.

 

IMPORTANT NOTES

·       The Embassy of Mexico reserves the right to request further documentation.

·       Documents in Arabic or any language different from English must be translated into Spanish by a certified translation office. The original document must also be presented along with the translation.
