Drawing Contest: Xico and the Korean Legends

 

THE EMBASSY OF MEXICO IN COREA AND XICO HAPPILY INVITE YOU TO BE A PART OF THE DRAWING COMPETITION FOR THE CHILDREN AND YOUTH WITH THE THEME

 XICO AND THE KOREAN LEGENDS

THE CALL IS ADDRESSED TO THE CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE LIVING IN SOUTH KOREA, INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING

THE OBJECTIVE IS TO SPREAD THE MILLENARY CULTURE OF BOTH COUNTRIES, THROUGH XICO, A CHARACTER THAT SEEKS TO GENERATE A POSITIVE CHANGE THROUGH ART AND CULTURE, BY SUPPORTING THE EMERGING TALENT CREATING A PLATFORM THAT PROMOTES CREATIVITY

THIS PROJECT AIMS TO RESCUE THE ORAL TRADITIONS AND THE WISDOM SYMBOLIZED IN EACH KOREAN LEGEND PASSING IT TO NEW GENERATIONS BY HELPING SPREAD THE IMPORTANCE OF INCLUSION IN SOCIETY POINTING OUT THAT THERE IS NO DISABILITY THAT LIMITS ART AND CREATIVITY.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Be between 8 to 15 years old
  2. Download the technical sheet of the XICO 3D mask here starting 21 June 2019.
  3. Intervene the 3D XICO mask with the theme or inspiration of one of the Korean legends available for download here
  4. Make the intervention of the mask with a brush, pencil, acrylics, watercolors, crayons or any other material of your choice
  5. Draw or paint on a cardboard (30x30cm / 12 x 12 inches) following the mechanical plans for its assembly. Download the instructive here 
  6. Paste a piece of paper on the back of the drawing with the contact information of the contestant (name, phone number, address, e-mail, name of the drawing and selected legend)

TERMS

  1. The call will be open from June 21 to August 16, 2019
  2. Any work received after the deadline will not be considered
  3. The jury will be composed of a representative of the Embassy of Mexico in Korea and Ms. Cristina Pineda
  4. The jury will select the first three places
  5. Winners will receive kits of XICO products including, backpacks, cases, bags, lunchboxes a XICO stuffed animal, as well as a 17cm vinyl XICO
  6. By participating in the Contest, the copyright of the work is transferred to the company Comercializadora y Promotora XOLO, S.A. of C.V. for its use in exhibitions and in publications for promotional purposes
  7. The results will be published in the website www.xico.tv on 23 of August 2019. The results will be unappealable
  8. The winners will be notified via email or telephone call and ask to be in the presentation event for the Korean Legends and the showing of the XICO sculpture, bringing with you the fiscal mask
  9. The place, time and date of the event will be notified via email
  10. A diploma will be awarded to all the winners at the ceremony.
