Ottawa, Canada, April 10, 2014

The Ambassador of Mexico in Canada, Francisco Suárez Dávila, inaugurated the Mexico Pavilion at the Travel and Vacation Show, held at the Convention Centre of the city of Ottawa on April 5 and 6 of this year.

More than 200 exhibitors from roughly 50 countries participated in the fair, and approximately 16,000 people interested in the tourism industry attended the annual event. The Mexico Tourism Board (CPTM) coordinated the participation of representatives from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and Mexican companies Voyages Terra Natura Travel, Far Horizons Inc., Real Resorts and AeroMéxico, as well as the performance of the Aztlán Folkloric Ballet. This was the first year that Mexico had a pavilion at the show.

CPTM’s representative in Canada, Rodrigo Esponda, gave a presentation entitled “Live It to Believe It” to promote Mexico as a tourist destination.

The flow of Canadian tourists to Mexico has maintained constant growth over the last 9 years, reaching 1.6 million visitors during 2013. In the first quarter of this year alone, a growth of over 7% has been recorded with respect to the same period from the previous year.
