5. Bow and Foremast

The bow is known as the “castle deck.” The figurehead on the bow is a sculpture of Cuauhtémoc, the last Aztec emperor, for whom the ship is named.
Here is the foremast (or first mast), which is 46.9 meters long and has the most sails: 5 square sails and 5 fore-and-aft sails, as well as the horizontal spar called the “bowsprit.”
