67 Ambassadors join Declaration on the International Day against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia

The Equal Rights Coalition (ERC) is an intergovernmental body of 42 Member States dedicated to the protection of the rights of LGBTI persons. Member States provide leadership by actively engaging in thematic groups and commit to working closely with LGBTI civil society organisations. Founded in 2016, the ERC is currently co-chaired by the governments of Germany and Mexico, for the 2022-24 period.

As part of their duties as co-chairs, Germany and Mexico coordinate ERC members' participation at the local level. In Brussels, one of the major diplomatic capitals of the world, they organize the yearly Joint Declaration on the occasion of the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia.

The 2023 Joint Declaration, signed by 62 Ambassadors based in Brussels, serves as a reminder of our solidarity and support for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and all other queer persons in the Kingdom of Belgium and around the world.
