11. National Emblem
Now, take a moment to appreciate Mexico’s national emblem, a royal eagle devouring a snake while perched on a pear cactus. This image represents the prophecy of Huitzilopochtli, the God of War, who instructed the Aztecs to establish themselves where they found this sign. in 1325 they sighted this and built Tenochtitlan, the origin of modern Mexico City.
